Elizabeth (Chapman) Evans Payne

More than a decade after the death of her first husband, Robert Bruce Evans, in 1899, Elizabeth (Chapman) Evans married the Rev. Evans Payne, who pastored Fourth Baptist Church from 1880 to 1926. He was buried at neighboring Evergreen Cemetery, but Elizabeth was interred with her first husband and only daughter, Alma L. M. Evans, at East End. She appears to have no gravestone, but her name adorns the plot sill, in small white mosaic tile.
